Location: Red Dust has offices in Melbourne and Alice Springs however a remote working option would be considered for the right candidate.

About Red Dust

We are a well established Australian not-for-profit organisation working in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. We sit, walk and work alongside community leaders, elders, young people and families with a focus on improving health and wellbeing outcomes. We have a well developed Theory of Change which outlines short, medium and long term program outcomes to support our three key goals of improved identity; aspiration and cross cultural competency. We are a small but passionate team and we want someone who shares our vision and can help us write the next chapter of growth for our organisation.

The role

You will be a key member of the Red Dust Operations Team and take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our health and wellbeing programs in the Northern Territory. You will work closely with our Northern Territory-based Chief Operations Officer (COO) and be a critical conduit between the program team and the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ongoing development and implementation of our program and evaluation framework
  • Oversight of program delivery outputs and outcomes
  • Provide support, guidance and advocacy for the program team
  • Manage program contractors and volunteers
  • Develop and oversee program stakeholder management
  • Program financial oversight and reporting
  • Production of program reports for key stakeholders and program partners including government
  • Support for program delivery and logistics as required including certain levels of administration

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years experience managing programs
  • Experience developing and implementing program frameworks and methodologies
  • A deep understanding of evaluation and data collection processes
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrating planning, process, and execution
  • Strong written communication skills including report writing and the ability to write for a broad range of audiences
  • Ability to flex and adapt in a dynamic environment - you are comfortable getting your hands dirty and ok working the odd weekend
  • An Ochre Card (NT Working With Children Check) or ability to obtain one
  • Preferable but not essential, you will be tertiary qualified in relevant discipline or have a background working or studying in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander space or the health sector

Travel requirements: If not located in the NT, 25-50% of your time could be spent travelling to and from and within the NT including to remote communities.
