About the Organisation 

Based in Hawthorn, the Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) is a national reference organisation for the educational project of Reggio Emilia in Australia. REAIE is an invited member of the Reggio Children International Network. This not for profit organisation is managed by a Committee of volunteers and supported by an administrative team. REAIE draws on the Reggio Emilia Educational Project as the ongoing catalyst for thinking, research and advocacy in Australian educational settings.

Role Description

The Executive Officer is responsible for the effective leadership, overall management and operations of the organisation according to the Strategic Plan and policies set by the REAIE Committee including:

  • Be accountable to the Committee for implementing the agreed strategic direction
  • Maintain the highest standards of governance
  • Ensure the organisation operates on the principles of sound financial management
  • Provide leadership for staff to ensure the strategic objectives are met
  • Engage with key stakeholders to facilitate the long terms viability and visibility of REAIE
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Committee and receive direction from the Committee to ensure successful implementation of the strategic plan and ensure that the vision, purpose and values of the REAIE are realised.

The key performance indicators will be negotiated with the successful candidate in their performance plan in alignment with the delivery of outcomes as identified in the organisation's Strategic Plan.

Experience

  • Work in a not-for-profit setting (at least three years), including leadership of teams.
  • Business planning processes and managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of analysing data and preparing reports.
  • Project management and preparing submissions or applications for funding.
  • Marketing.
  • Membership-based organisation.
  • Voluntary sector and with committees or boards of management.

In alignment with Government regulations, it is a requirement that all staff members are fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, unless they have a valid medical exemption. Proof of vaccination status or an original certified copy of a valid medical exemption will be required as part of the employment process.
