Accommodation Support and Respite Services (AS&RS) value strong partnerships and relationships with our participants, families, and carers. Our support enables participants to live a rewarding life that focuses on their interests, choices, and rights every day.

Our support workers, known as Residential Care Officers, enrich participants’ lives by ensuring they have the opportunity and support, tailored to their individual needs, to explore and participate in all aspects of their life.

Our services include support for independent living (accommodation support) and short-term accommodation support (centre-based respite).

WHAT WOULD MY DAY LOOK LIKE?

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Performing daily household tasks with participants that can include menu planning, cooking, and serving meals, cleaning, shopping, laundry, bed making and light garden activities
  • Assisting participants to maintain relationships with their family, friends, and advocates
  • Helping participants develop and maintain personal independence within their home with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, showering and safe and enjoyable mealtimes
  • Assisting participants in their personal and health care by providing support with medication ensuring correct dosages as prescribed, seizure response, and health needs
  • Transportation using participants and government vehicles
