Due to an internal promotion, we have a rewarding part-time, permanent opportunity for a family dispute resolution practitioner (FDRP) to join a team of highly skilled professionals at our Berwick centre.

About the role

As the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Practitioner, you will join our team of highly skilled and dedicated practitioners, to apply your skills and experience to provide effective FDR to families by assisting to resolve issues in dispute such as parenting arrangements and property settlements. Reporting to the Senior Manager Southern and Eastern Melbourne, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and mediation, group work (as required) and providing information, support, and referral to match presenting needs to services and programs.

This position is based at our Family Relationship Centre located in Berwick and is a permanent position. The position will be part-time on a fortnightly work pattern, working four (4) days the first week and three (3) days the second week. There is a requirement for the successful candidate to work an evening shift (Tuesday or Wednesday) each week to deliver services to meet the community needs.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, social work, law or psychology;
  • Successful completion of the Vocational Graduate Diploma in Dispute Resolution;
  • Demonstrated previous experience as a family dispute resolution practitioner;
  • Registration as an FDRP under the Accreditation Rules or on the Register of FDRP maintained by the Attorney-General’s Department for eligibility immediately; and
  • Experience or training in property as well as willingness to undertake training.

A competitive salary package with a base salary range pro-rata of $88k to $94k (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation, and access to salary packaging.
