About the Role

  • Full-time, fixed-term opportunity until 30/06/2026.
  • This is a remote position, with the flexibility to work from home anywhere in Australia.

The RANZCP has received funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) under the Psychiatry Workforce Program to support the development of rural and remote psychiatry training pathways and networks.

The key objective of the RPTP Engagement Officer is to assist with achievement of the deliverables outlined in the Rural Psychiatry Roadmap, as part of the Rural Psychiatry Training Pathways (RPTP) Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver clear, timely, and professional communications and marketing support for the RPTP team.
  • Support effective stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining strong relationships with key groups (e.g., GP Colleges).
  • Provide strategic advice and support advocacy efforts, including funding submissions and policy change requests tied to the Roadmap.
  • Promote a positive rural and generalist Fellowship culture through targeted communications and engagement activities.
  • Understand (or quickly learn) relevant government policies and documents, including accreditation practices and the National Medical Workforce Strategy.
  • Provide administration support to project groups - organising agendas, meetings, minutes, and tracking actions.
  • Collaborate with teams across the College on initiatives related to the Roadmap.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated high calibre skills in communications and marketing, stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
  • High order administration skills including planning, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in project design, coordination and administration including planning, analysis, implementation, project evaluation and reporting.
  • A knowledge or understanding of medical education, and/or the Australian and New Zealand mental health system context, is desirable.
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or right to work in Australia.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance.

  • A Total Remuneration Package (TRP) of up to $81,755 is on offer, inclusive of leave loading and 11.5% superannuation.

  • 12 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave for both primary and secondary caregivers.
