The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the leading standards body responsible for the training and education of specialists and GP obstetricians in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.

RANZCOG is committed to the establishment and maintenance of the highest possible standards of practice in women's health and provides programs in training, accreditation and continuing professional development (CPD) that are responsive to the evolving health care needs of women.

RANZCOG supports research into women's health and act as an advocate for women's healthcare by forging productive relationships with individuals, the community and professional organisations, both locally and internationally.

RANZCOG has undergone a restructure led by our recently appointed CEO and Executive Directors. We are looking for committed people to enable us to grow and focus on our exciting strategic priorities.

The Women's Health and Engagement Directorate is a dynamic team that delivers membership services, events, publications, and administers various committees that advocate for women's health issues on behalf of the College's Fellowship. The department is responsible for leading all strategic and operational outcomes as outlined in the annual business plan with a focus on membership, stakeholder engagement, developing clinical advice on issues relating to women's health and the ongoing revision of the College's suite of statements and guidelines. The Directorate also administers College Global Health and Provincial Fellows activities.

Reporting to the CEO this role includes:

  • Leadership and management of Women's Health and Engagement Directorate staff to enable development of women's health and engagement initiatives relevant to the programs and strategic priorities of the College.
  • Development and achievement of the College's Member Engagement Strategy and associated plans including initiatives to improve and enhance the College's offering to members.
  • Management of Publications and associated licensing or contract responsibilities.
  • Development and management of corporate style guide, including editorial compliance with all resources developed by the College.
  • Oversight of events management, including ASM and other College events, with a particular focus on member engagement, market position and growth.
  • Management of the administration, financial planning and project management for activities, projects and programs conducted under the Global Health Unit and other College initiatives in Asia/Pacific region.
  • Oversee the management and administration of committees
  • Oversee the Coordination, maintenance and monitoring of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for Associate Members in the Pacific.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Statements, Position Statements and Clinical Practice Guidelines in key areas of Women's Health.
  • Delivery of relevant reports and recommendations to the Board relating to the function's committees within the Women's Health and Engagement Directorate.
  • Identification of risk in College activities relating to member engagement and women's health in line with the College's risk management program.
  • Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive Officer and relevant Fellows and members in regard to strategic initiatives that will ensure that the College remains at the forefront of development in women's health.
  • Ensure the accuracy and availability of College publications, patient information pamphlets, relevant sections on the College website relating to women's health.
  • Preparation of budgets and oversight of expenditure for all cost centres within the Women's Health and Engagement Directorate.

The Ideal candidate will have

Essential:

  • A post graduate tertiary qualification in a health or marketing related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong strategic leadership and manage multiple disciplinary teams
  • Extensive experience developing, implementing and managing marketing, membership engagement and loyalty strategies in a not-for-profit environment
  • Functional understanding of print media and event/conference planning and organisation, with a focus on delivering proven value to user groups
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills; the ability to write papers and reports targeted to a highly educated audience
  • Sound financial management skills including budget preparation and management, business planning and risk management reporting
  • Functional understanding of women's health issues, related government policy (Australia and New Zealand) and the complex College environment
  • Demonstrated high-level project management and evaluation skills, the ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholder groups
  • Working knowledge of current global and local trends in acute and public health
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
  • Sound knowledge and aptitude for Information Technology including
  • An interest in and commitment to issues concerning women's health and the ability to grasp complex issues in obstetrics and gynaecology

Desirable:

  • Experience or background in a membership organisation, medical college, or academic institution
