The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is a specialist medical college whose core activities involve the development, implementation and coordination of education, training and recertification programs for specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand, as well as other medical practitioners and health professionals involved in women's healthcare.
About the Role
In collaboration with the Assessments team:
- Coordinate the development, delivery and reporting of designated RANZCOG examinations which may include the written and / or oral examinations for the Fellowship, Subspecialty and Diploma Training programs.
- Contribute to on-going developments and initiatives in the Assessments unit.
- Process candidate examination applications and assess candidate eligibility for designated examinations.
- Maintain the examination question bank and facilitate the standard setting process for Multiple Choice Exam Questions.
- Facilitate the development of designated oral and written examinations in collaboration with the Assessments team and College staff.
- Facilitate the preparation and delivery of designated examination events. Events include but are not limited to examination workshops, written and oral examinations, examiner workshops, examiner dinners and examiner teleconferences. Responsibilities include managing timelines, venues, catering, resources, equipment and staffing.
- Collate, analyse and record examination results and produce reports and candidate/examiner written feedback for designated examinations.
- Facilitate examination ratification teleconferences for designated examinations including the preparation of associated documentation, reports and minutes.
- Provide support and assistance as and when requested for additional RANZCOG examinations.
- Maintain relevant policy and procedure documents to support designated areas of responsibility.
- Provide timely and accurate information, support and advice to the Assessments unit, the College's Education and Assessment Committee and other College staff, where relevant, in matters regarding examinations.

- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level computer literacy and personal computer application experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Ability to work confidently with numerical data and produce spreadsheets and reports.
- An interest in, and commitment to issues concerning women's health, an interest in health education, and a positive attitude towards developing further skills in an educational setting.
- Previous experience in the conduct of high stakes examinations and/or event management would be highly regarded.
As the College oral examinations are held on weekends, there is a requirement to work at least six weekends per year and to attend occasional evening teleconferences. Time-in-lieu arrangements apply.
