ABOUT RAINBOW FAMILIES

Rainbow Families aims to build a community which fosters resiliency by connecting, supporting and empowering LGBTQ+ families. We provide support and resources to members of the LGBTQ+ community so that they and their families can live their best and most colourful lives. We host events that connect LGBTQ+ families, particularly those that are feeling isolated because of social pressures, financial difficulty or where they live. We advocate on behalf of our community and are a strong and consistent voice for LGBTQ+ families to address discrimination, raise awareness and promote acceptance.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Part Time Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for contributing to and executing the marketing plan for Rainbow Families and Strong Safe Fabulous to promote the work of both organisations, reach new audiences and increase engagement with resources and services offered by both organisations.

The Marketing plan includes:

  • Social media
  • Content creation
  • EDMs
  • Press releases
  • Website updates
  • Podcast

SKILLS REQUIRED

Ideally you have an understanding of the for-purpose sector and/or working or volunteering within the sector supporting LGBTQ+ people. You also have the following:

  • Qualifications in Marketing, Social Impact, Business, or Communications or relevant experience in a similar role

  • Understanding of the needs and challenges of For Purpose Organisations

  • Understanding of the needs of LGBTQ+ families

  • Ability to organise self and to work collaboratively when required and independently

  • Strong communication skills

  • Valid National Criminal Record Check and Current Working with Children Check.

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, Canva, Nationbuilder

  • Connection to the LGBTQ+ community

Core Competencies Required

  • Quick-thinking, proactive and preventative; showing initiative and innovative thinking

  • Thorough in execution of tasks, with excellent attention to detail and follow up

  • Design skills and experience

  • Storytelling skills and experience

This is a 2 day per week, part time, flexible work from home role suited to a self motivated autonomous team member.

  • Fixed Term Contract – April 2023 - October 2023 with the aim to renew for the next 6 months dependant on funding
  • Flexible hours
  • $31 per hour
