Job purpose
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for the implementation supervision of all marketing and communications strategies and campaigns for Rafiki Mwema. This individual will work with the marketing committee in developing strategies and implementing plans to execute comprehensive marketing and donation fundraising campaigns. and manage all internal and external communications.
The core responsibility of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator is to manage the implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns to raise community awareness to drive engagement, sponsorship and donations (monetary and tangible) for Rafiki Mwema.
The incumbent Marketing Coordinator will manage the creation and development of programs and campaigns to promote Rafiki Mwema. They Marketing and Communications Manager will oversee the promotion of new and existing service es campaigns to meet organisational goals and fundraising targets.
Day to day, you may will draft reports, create and or coordinate digital and print content, track results pertaining to your role, support relationships with key stakeholders including volunteers, and otherwise support all marketing strategies as directed by the Marketing Committee. & Founder.
KPI’s
- Social Media/Website Conversion Rates – Collaboration with Marketing Committee to increase traffic to website and social media engagement leading to donations/fundraising/sponsorship income as per the Marketing Committee's Strategic Plan.
- Sponsorship – Collaboration with Founder Marketing Committee to achieve annual revenue targets and increase number of sponsors increase f by 50% on previous year , with a min. 80% sponsor retention.
- Fundraising/Events – Collaboration with Founder Marketing Committee to achieve annual revenue increase of 20% on previous year.
- Donors/Donations – Collaboration with Founder Marketing Committee to achieve annual revenue increase of 20% on donations in previous year, with a minimum 40% donor retention (on recurring donors). , 50% conversation rate.
Core AccountabilitiesResponsibilities
Brand Awareness
- Develop and implement branding initiatives consistent with corporate the business goals and objectives.
- Responsible for maintaining brand management and corporate identity.
- Implementation and management of the Rafiki Mwema Marketing and Brand strategy.
- Identify and assess business opportunities and strategic alignments.
Marketing Programs
- Execute marketing plans within budget requirements.
- Manage and execute an annual strategic marketing and communications plan across all communication media (online and offline) to reach appropriate target audiences.
- Plan and implement promotional campaigns under Founder/Committee direction.
- Develop project briefs as required and prepare relevant communication documentation, agreements and contracts.
- Communicate campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to the Committee, and provide instructions for use or promotion.
- Work with media contacts to assist with new campaign launches. Preparing necessary media releases interviews and other information.
Day to day Marketing Management and Implementation, could include but not be limited to:
- Plan and schedule social media content, utilising relevant strategies across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Maintain YouTube channel and ensure regular content is added to our channel and optimised.
- Plan, write, schedule and publish ongoing blog articles, in line with the over-arching marketing plan.
- Update website with case studies, success stories, testimonials from sponsors, corporate sponsor information, merchandise, promotional information
- Oversee the planning and execution of EDMs to the database, ensuring they are segmented, targeted and tracked.
- Prepare correspondence, reports & submissions for media submission.
Reporting
- Develop marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring program success.
- Evaluate the success of campaigns and provide and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare monthly report (for the board) that mMeasures web traffic/conversions, EDM campaigns, social media engagement, social and Google ad performance, SEO progress, media runs. and monitor SEO.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Communicate and negotiate with promotional partners as needed for joint marketing activities.
- Support the Founder and & Committee to develop and maintain effective relationships with private sectors consultants, industry representatives and other stakeholders to drive brand awareness.
- In conjunction with Marketing Committee, develop master Ambassador agreement and adapt as necessary for individuals to make expectations clear.
IT/Collateral Collateral Toolkit
- Support the maintenance of internal tools including databases, Hubspot and & Salesforce integration, bulk email correspondence and WordPress website updates.
- Manage the development of branded templates for use on social media.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
- Further knowledge and skills regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices, and local marketing ideas and tactics.
Education & Experience
Essential
- Bachelors’ degree in marketing, advertising or communications or relevant field.Marketing qualification
- 5 3+ years of direct work experience in marketing coordination capacity, including the handling of corporate communications, original writing and editing and some public relations.
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
- Demonstrated experience of successful delivery of projects.
- Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management.
- Knowledge of fundraising and sponsorship campaign principles and practice.
- Demonstrated proficiency in internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting.
- Highly effective project management, prioritisation, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage and co-ordinate the end-to-end development process while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must hold a current “Working with Children” and Police Clearance.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or communications.
- Previous experience in NFP space, including practices and charitable giving.
