Your new role

  • Full-time ongoing located at Wagga Wagga, NSW or Deakin, ACT
  • Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.

The Team Leader plays a crucial role in supporting the Client Access & Engagement team and ensuring seamless service delivery. This position provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary team based in Wagga and Deakin (ACT). The Team Leader manages daily operations and leads strategic planning and client access projects.

Duties:

  • Ensure that client intake, onboarding, risk screening, case coordination, fee collection and reception functions are welcoming, highly professional and sensitive, undertaken by well qualified and competent staff and enable all organisational services and systems to function effectively.
  • Ensure intake and case coordination staff have appropriate skills in responding to clients who contact with concerns around risk; initial brief assessment, managing and responding to risk, and providing brief intervention; referring as appropriate to Senior Clinicians or Managers.
  • Lead recruitment activities, supervise, train and support Client Service Officers, Family Advisors, and Case Coordinators.
  • Manage rosters, workforce planning, and leave arrangements.
  • In collaboration with the Business Manager, lead the review and implementation of new and innovative practices and strategies, with a commitment to continuous improvement. Ensure that direct reports are supported, and their workloads are effectively managed.

What you’ll need to succeed

  1. Qualifications in Practice Management, Project Management, or a related field and demonstrated leadership experience in a human services workplace.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff and to lead a team to deliver results within deadlines.
  3. Excellent observational, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  4. Demonstrated computer literacy and experience in data entry, metrics, record keeping and sound organisational skills.
  5. Awareness and understanding of family and domestic violence, mental health and trauma – and how these may present safety issues to clients and to the client services team/or willingness to access training and develop a good working understanding in these areas.
