ABOUT THE ROLE

  • The Field Organisers will work closely with the Ryan Campaign Manager to deliver the Ryan Nested Strategy for the Ryan re-election
    campaign, focused on Libby’s re-election at the next federal election.
  • This role will report to the Ryan Campaign Manager.
  • The position is offered under the Australian Greens Multi-Enterprise Staff Collective Agreement 2021, and includes:
  • A salary of up to $67,164.24 per annum pro-rata ($33.99 per hour) working 4 days per week;
    • Superannuation of 11% in addition to salary;
    • Contracted role until May 2025, or until the federal election.
    • A probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension by a maximum of three months.
  • All employees are expected to sign a confidentiality and code of conduct agreement before the commencement of their employment.

GOALS OF THE ROLE

  • Deliver the field campaign strategy for the Ryan re-election campaign, including managing a team of field organisers.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated political judgement, with a particular emphasis on Australian politics
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential political campaigns and develop them with a minimum of supervision.
  • Highly developed skills in recruiting and managing volunteers, including experience running voter contact actions during election
    campaigns
  • Excellence in people management skills including the ability to recruit, manage and train new and experienced volunteers; and to
    oversee, direct and mentor junior campaign staff
  • Strong interest in or knowledge of issues relevant to Elizabeth’s work in Federal Parliament, and in the Ryan electorate
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines in a
    dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Proven word processing skills, general computing skills (e.g. email and outlook, internet, spreadsheets, google documents,
    Nationbuilder or other databases etc.) and digital housekeeping skills (e.g. computer file structures, data archiving and deletion) at an
    advanced level

Desirable:

  • Open license and access to your own car.
  • Experience using Nationbuilder
  • Sound knowledge of Queensland Greens policies
  • Commitment to the Greens charter
  • Understanding of Queensland Greens internal structures and processes

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a small team of campaign staff to deliver campaign targets and goals
  • Lead and co-ordinate the field campaign, including duties as line manager for junior field organisers
  • Recruit and organise a broad volunteer base with a particular focus on relational recruitment to build the field campaign
  • Develop training materials and workshops to upskill key volunteers, and coordinate supporter engagement events
  • Lead, and oversee field organisers to lead, field campaign activities in collaboration with local Greens campaign teams, including
    doorknocking and phone banking
  • Oversee constituent contact and campaign events
  • Proactively identify issues the local community are engaged in and the Member can support with resources
  • Consult on campaign strategy and work with the campaign manager and member to develop localised campaigns
