Qtopia Sydney

About Qtopia Sydney

Qtopia Sydney is an ACNC registered not-for-profit organisation committed to empowerment, inclusivity, celebration, challenge and education. Our public exhibitions temporary displays and community engagement and education programs are resolute in their intent to represent the history and culture of the LGBTQIA+ community with integrity, authenticity and accuracy.

Launching in Sydney in February 2024, Qtopia Sydney will feature historical and archival objects, imagery, video and audio, to tell some of the stories of this significant period within Australia’s history. Additionally, the Live at Qtopia Sydney program will expand to three locations around Darlinghurst and see hundreds of performers take to stage every year.

As Australia’s first Centre for Queer History and Culture, our Live programs serve to provide live engagement opportunities to extend the knowledge, empathy and understanding gained from a visit to the exhibitions, by provoking conversation through the mediums of live performance and events. Our flagship Theatre, the Loading Dock, will host 15 mainstage Productions in 2024, with an array of festivals and smaller Arts experiences partnering with us to celebrate a range of stories and storytellers.
