About the Information Technology and Facility
The Information Technology and Facility Services forms part of Operations Support and Governance. Information Services provides infrastructure, systems, communication services, software development services, information analytics and records management services.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities
Reporting to the IT Support Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing front line support to staff and researches though call handling, ticket creation (KACE), support triage and proactive maintenance in a large enterprise environment.
The key responsibilities are to:
- Provide first response support to service requests and incidents using our KACE ticketing systems
- Update staff on status of incidents or service requests regularly
- Co-ordinate, assess and allocate priorities to incoming support requests
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on institute hardware
- Produce training documentation for new and existing staff members
- Present regular training tutorials for new users
- Setup, configure and network new computers as required (Windows, MacOS, Ubuntu, Linux)
- Install and configure software and hardware (both general use and scientific)
- Basic configuration for PABX systems (omnivista)
- Communicate well with staff and suppliers, exhibiting excellent listening skills
- Co-ordinate bookings for A/V equipment and setup meetings and seminars as required
- Document procedures and user tutorial information
- Ensure work practices comply with the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act, related legislative requirements and the Institute's OH&S policies and procedures
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience as an IT Support Officer, providing face-to-face and virtual IT support across multiple sites in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills. Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues, as well as prioritise tasks in a timely fashion
- Good understanding of Windows and MAC operating systems
- Advanced knowledge of LINUX OS (Red Hat based variant and Ubuntu) desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security information to a non-technical audience
- 1-2 years experience conducting user administration tasks, utilising various user administration tools, within a Windows environment, admin experience with Active Directory Users and Computers, DHCP, DNS and Print Management will compliment this role
- Strong work ethic. Experience working productively, independent of direct supervision
Remuneration: Salary range is $67,649 to $75,597 p.a. plus super, plus salary packaging. This is a permanent, full-time appointment.
