We are Australia’s peak rights and advocacy organisation for people with disability, advancing and protecting the rights, health and wellbeing of the people and communities we serve. Our vision is of a socially just, accessible and inclusive community, in which the human rights, belonging, contribution, potential and diversity of all people with disability are recognised, respected and celebrated with pride.
We offer an inclusive, supportive and collaborative work environment where the contribution of each team member is valued and commitment to our purpose is visible
You will be the first point of contact for people needing disability-related support, either by phone, web or in-person enquiries. These may be people with disability, their families or careers or members of the community seeking guidance. You will work within a strengths-based framework to triage incoming enquiries and determine the support or assistance our clients need, then referring them to appropriate PWDA-delivered services or external service providers. You will also update our CMS so we can report to our funders. You’ll be part of the broader team and have opportunities from time to time to contribute to our advocacy and outreach promotions.
As this role supports clients attending the office, it is not a role for those who want to work remotely. You will be based in our new offices in Surry Hills, opposite Central Station.
Previous work experience in the disability sector and lived experience of disability would be well regarded but are not essential. If you are not from the disability sector, you will have the enthusiasm to learn and understand disability rights, referral pathways and accessibility requirements and full training will be provided.
PWDA is a proud employer of people with disability, and people with disability are strongly encouraged to apply for these positions. We are an EEO employer and we embrace the diversity of our people, such as diversity in disability, race, cultural background, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or intersex status.
If you have any specific questions about the position, please contact Polly Seymour on 0490 355 204 or at [email protected] using the subject line: Client Services Officers x2 enquiry via EthicalJobs.
Only candidates invited for interview will be contacted.
