Drama Facilitator For Students With Additional Needs

Purple Carrots Studio

Purple Carrots Studio is super excited to be opening in Melbourne after operating in Toronto for the past 5 years. Created by a speech pathologist, expressive arts therapist and drama teacher, our inclusive drama classes help individuals aged 6 to adult improve social skills through drama, movement and mindfulness. Most of our students have additional needs.

Our first classes will start in Term 2 and run:

  • After school one day a week, details tbd.

  • Have great interpersonal skills
  • Are happy to lead independently as well as co-facilitate
  • Have a background in theatre and are able to lead drama improvisation games, can hold space for others, and feel confident teaching a drama class to a group of 8 students (max)
  • Thrive on spontaneity; you enjoy supporting student's creative impulses, as well as solving problems that arise in the moment
  • Are looking for a rewarding opportunity that values your creative contribution
  • Love working with children and teens!
  • Experience working with people with additional needs such as autism is ideal, but not necessary

Additionally:

  • Working With Children Check is essential
  • A training session before the first workshop and ongoing mentorship will be provided
  • An assistant position is also available, which involves supporting the lead facilitator and the class.
