Senior Finance Officer - MATES in Construction

About the Role

Take ownership of all end to end finance duties, from invoicing and end of month activities up to budgeting, analysis and grant reporting to support at a strategic level. Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, this is a standalone finance role that will see you working collaboratively within a small team environment to support overall organisational goals. This role would be well suited to an experienced accountant who is looking for work-life balance and to make a difference in an organisation with purpose.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full function accounts payables and receivables
  • Processing fortnightly payroll
  • Grant reporting and acquittals
  • Bank reconciliations and GL reconciliations
  • End of month management reports
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Statutory reporting
  • Assist with annual audit process
  • Budgeting and cash flow reporting
  • Provide support to management with analysis and commentary
  • Streamline processes and procedures or other ad hoc duties as required

Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, with CPA qualification highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with full function accounting duties within a small team environment
  • High level of attention to detail and someone who is self-motivated
  • Someone who embraces continuous improvement and is willing to suggest new ideas
  • Strong team player with a willingness to help others as required
  • Genuinely interested in making a difference in the lives of others
