About the Role
Provide short-term case management support to a caseload of building and construction workers across New South Wales. Using a program recognised by the World Health Organisation as an example of best practice, you will assess workers' needs and issues and work with them to deliver an appropriate plan to connect them to ongoing support. This role will also see you directly engaging with construction workers on site as you work alongside a team of dedicated and experienced Field Officers as they deliver the MATES in Construction training program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide short-term case management support to building and construction workers using a brokerage model
- Refer workers to existing workplace services (for example, EAP) or other community services
- Provide on-site support through critical incident debriefing and/or postvention response
- Work alongside Field Officers to support the delivery of onsite training, providing additional support to building and construction workers who may be struggling
- Oversee the quality, responsiveness and availability of service providers, establishing new and maintaining existing relationships
- Work collaboratively with Field Officers and other MATES staff as part of the New South Wales team, participating in regular team meetings, training and professional development activities
Skills & Experience required
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology with professional registration would be highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in case management and crisis intervention, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of mental health
- A willingness to work with the existing LivingWorks ASIST intervention model
- A flexible and mature mindset, along with a calm, even-measured approach when working in a reactive environment
- Strong time management skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities
- The ability to engage and build rapport with those working in the building and construction sector
