The Company: 

Prosperosa is striving to be known as a respected leading provider of community care, specialising in supports provided to consumers with psychosocial diagnoses and is known for the great care we take with clients and employees alike. Prosperosa provides opportunities for training in house with our Clinical Care Coordinator, a registered mental health nurse and mental health first aid trainer.

The Position:

We’re looking for a Support Worker who can provide practical and emotional support to individuals with health problems, mental disorders, learning and emotional difficulties.

We are searching for team members who preferably have experience (personal or work) with psychosocial disability, for us, an extraordinary support worker will be attuned to consumer’s predictable mental difficulties, which you will work to minimalise by: working with consumers and their other stakeholders to establish and work within care-adjacent needs, to oversee consumers’ adherence to treatment regime’s where needed yet being willing to then perform residential chores such as cleaning, cooking and transporting individuals.

We are looking for individuals who can take initiative yet still work collaboratively within their teams and under their team leader, someone who has a strong understanding of professional boundaries.

Our shifts include weekends, sleepovers, community access shifts, in home assistance shifts and fun group activity shifts, our preferred applicants are willing to be flexible and contribute to all shifts.

Requirements:

  • COVID Vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Clearance
  • Blue Card
  • Drivers Licence
  • Own Vehicle
  • Preferable qualification in health/social care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong professional boundaries
  • The ability to maintain composure under duress and in tough situations
  • Empathic with excellent listening abilities
  • Willingness to assist with basic healthcare practices

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with familial and medical support structures to ascertain consumers’ care related requirements
  • Providing unwavering, yet appropriate emotional support
  • Documenting clear and helpful shift notes
  • Training everyday life skills to consumers such as, social skills, public transport skills, cleaning, cooking and personal care skills
  • Participating in leisure activities with consumers
  • Assisting consumers to work towards and achieve their NDIS goals.
