We advocate for the vulnerable and provide innovative services to meet current and emerging community needs. 

Your Team

Our day centres have programs for elderly Greek community to provide socially isolated clients with the opportunity to socialise with people of their own background and to participate in planned recreational, physical and educational activities.

What you will be doing

We are have (2) part time community care worker positions on offer at our Balwyn and Clarinda Day Centres. Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support to clients who attend and participate in the Centre’s activities. You will also assist the clients with their personal care such as feeding, toileting as required and assist in delivering relevant recreational, physical and educational activities for clients.

What you will bring to this role

  • Have a positive and professional attitude
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Fluency in Greek language
  • Experience in organising recreational activities desirable
  • Demonstrated ability or understanding in working with elderly from different cultural, linguistic and health backgrounds
  • The ability to work independently and part of a team

Other requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, or willingness to enrol shortly after being employed
  • Current certificates in First Aid and CPR, or willingness to complete the course
  • Current driver licence and reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Willingness to undergo a Criminal History Record Check
