About the opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we have a unique opportunity for a proactive, tech-savvy Management Accountant to join us as an integral part of our Finance team.

Working closely with program managers, you will provide support in all things finance and the management and reporting of expenses within funding limitations. The key to success in this role will be taking the initiative to develop these relationships, getting to know and understand the business, and by demonstrating a big picture, strategic way of operating.

What you would be doing

Working under the guidance of the Manager – Finance, you will:

  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports
  • Support program managers with the financial performance of their respective programs
  • Provide expert financial advisory support in reviewing financial and funding acquittal reporting to Primary Health Tasmania by its contracted health service providers
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and systems, controls, tools and analysis, acumen and understanding of financial compliance by contracted health service providers
  • Serve as a bridge between Finance and operational teams – fostering financial literacy and empowering decision-makers by translating intricate financial matters into language everyone can understand.

Here's what you’ll look like

  • Substantial experience in a similar role or at a similar accounting level and hold business or finance tertiary qualifications
  • Professional accounting association membership (i.e. CPA, CA).
  • Experience in using a 2nd or 3rd tier accounting system such as Technology One, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage, Netsuite
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to demystify and explain complex financial information in a simple and clear manner
