The 3 day a week role will rotate between providing direct client support and concierge services to community members on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Direct client support
- Provide information, referral, emergency relief and short-term case work to people living with diverse and complex needs
- Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred support
- Respond to complex behaviour and uphold the rights and dignity of all service users
- Contribute to outreach events and projects as required
- Contribute to developing and strengthening information resources, referral pathways and other partnerships.
Reception and administrative support
- Manage all incoming enquiries, providing initial service information and triage
- Manage appointments and bookings across PPCG’s various programs
- Provide administrative support to PPCG programs as required
- Train and support front desk volunteers.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- A sound understanding of the current social and economic factors impacting upon individuals, families and communities that are disadvantaged/marginalised.
- Understanding and knowledge of the local service system.
- Understanding and experience of emergency relief programs.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Incidental counselling and active listening skills.
- Case work skills.
- Ability to work with people in crisis.
- High level of advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and web-based data entry.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualifications in the human services field.
- Previous experience in client services or case management.
