Client Access and Support Worker

The 3 day a week role will rotate between providing direct client support and concierge services to community members on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Direct client support

  • Provide information, referral, emergency relief and short-term case work to people living with diverse and complex needs
  • Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred support
  • Respond to complex behaviour and uphold the rights and dignity of all service users
  • Contribute to outreach events and projects as required
  • Contribute to developing and strengthening information resources, referral pathways and other partnerships.

Reception and administrative support

  • Manage all incoming enquiries, providing initial service information and triage
  • Manage appointments and bookings across PPCG’s various programs
  • Provide administrative support to PPCG programs as required
  • Train and support front desk volunteers.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A sound understanding of the current social and economic factors impacting upon individuals, families and communities that are disadvantaged/marginalised.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the local service system.
  • Understanding and experience of emergency relief programs.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Incidental counselling and active listening skills.
  • Case work skills.
  • Ability to work with people in crisis.
  • High level of advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and web-based data entry.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in the human services field.
  • Previous experience in client services or case management.
