Power Neighbourhood House is looking to hire a suitable qualified Manager (25 -28 hours per week) to be responsible for the running of our House and to bring with them their passion for Community Development, Social Justice and understanding of the value of community participation.
We are a small House with only 2 permanent part time staff and a small number of tutors and project workers. We have an open-door policy and it is important for the new manager to be welcoming, flexible, and be able to connect equally with people from all walks of life.
Power Neighbourhood House (PNH) was established in 1984 as a place where local residents of all ages can come together and connect with their community in a relaxed, nurturing and non-judgmental environment. The House provides opportunities for learning, social interaction, referrals and support which results in improved health, social, educational and economic outcomes for many of our local residents. Activities offered at the House include social support groups, educational workshops, health and wellbeing activities, volunteer support activities, outreach support, programs for people with special needs, recreational activities and community partnerships and projects.
The House is run by a Committee of Governance which is representative of the local community and takes a coordinated, consultative approach with residents and other key community stakeholders regarding its programs.
A position description is attached.
