Your New Role
This is full-time permanent role starting in July with an opportunity to join a high-performance team of Program Managers who deliver evidence based national music therapy programs.
Whilst this role is primarily based in Enoggera, Queensland, interstate travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocacy: Promote Play Matters' vision, purpose, and strategy to external stakeholders and lead direct reports.
- Leadership: Adopt a leadership style aligned with PMA’s values, and lead program planning and business development.
- People Management: Manage a team of State Program Managers and support their growth and development, engage and support a geographically distributed workforce, and recruit and onboard new team members. Develop and deliver training when required.
- Program Management: Oversee a portfolio of programs, ensuring high-quality outcomes, contractual compliance, and resource management. Monitor deliverables, including stakeholder engagement, timelines, budget constraints, and performance reporting. Contribute to original musical works, make sound recordings, and deliver Sing & Grow groups and workshops as required.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track program deliverables, including stakeholder engagement, timelines, budget constraints, and performance reporting.
- Innovation and Improvement: Identify new service delivery models and funding opportunities, champion sustainability initiatives, and recommend program improvements.
- Partnerships and Networking: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders, and promote an evidence-based approach.
- Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with legislation, complete administrative tasks, and advocate for safe practices.

About You
- Holds or is eligible to hold a Working with Children Check
- Relevant degree/qualification and/or experience in early childhood, and/or community development, family support or related fields
- Current registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association
- Advanced level knowledge in the music therapy competencies as outlined by the Australian Music Therapy Association
- Senior management experience delivering evidence-based government-funded programs in a relevant industry or organisation
- Experience leading a geographically dispersed team of people
- Previous experience in operationalising business plans
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery or programs that are culturally safe and a commitment to building cultural competency within an organisation
- Experience in effectively networking and building sustainable relationships and connections in the sector
- Experience/practical knowledge in program performance, evaluation and research methodologies
