- Hours: Variable
- Salary: $1,125 per full day of work (paid pro-rata if workload is less than a full day), and reimbursements of travel road costs.

Position summary
Plan C is building a database of skilled Northern Rivers-based consultants who share our values and whom we work with to deliver workshops and training on an as-needed basis.
We are looking for professionals with expertise in various fields related to disaster resilience and emergency preparedness, psychological first aid and community-building. Consultants may be engaged for different durations—sometimes several consultants working together for a day, sometimes one consultant working on their own for a two-hour session.
Expertise areas sought
We are seeking consultants with proficiency in training and/or workshops in the following areas:
- Disaster resilience (Prevention, Preparation, Response, Recovery) and specific disaster types (bushfires, floods, heatwaves, storms, etc.)
- Emergency communications & radio communications
- Food & water security
- Energy security
- Community building & development
- Psychological first aid & mental health first aid
- Bushcraft instruction
Additionally, we are seeking consultants to support us at Plan C with proficiency in the following areas:
- Monitoring & evaluation
- IT
- Marketing & communications
Consultant requirements
- Must be based in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
- Must be proficient in delivering workshops/training in their respective expert area (or, for the applicants applying as Monitoring & Evaluation, IT and Marketing and communications consultants, must be proficient in supporting staff).
- Must demonstrate relevant experience and expertise through a cover letter and CV.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and maintain engagement with a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently and in team.
- Experience working in community resilience (desirable).
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
Working conditions
- Work from home, with a requirement to be on-site for training and engagement days.
- Must be able to travel around the Northern Rivers.
- May require weekend work for specific organisational needs, with time off in lieu.
