We strive to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. As an independent development and humanitarian organisation, we work alongside children, young people, our supporters and partners to tackle the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. For over 80 years we have been building powerful partnerships for children, and we are active in over 75 countries.
Our Partnerships & Influence Team is looking for a passionate consultant to engage in supporting our next project for a period of approximately 1 month.
Our Youth Activist series works with a group of young people, building their skills in activism, advocacy, campaigning and media. As part of this program, Plan International Australia partners with Plan International Vietnam and Plan International Indonesia on a youth-centred research and advocacy project on a topic co-decided between young people involved and aligned to our advocacy priorities.
The project will engage young people (ages 15-24) in Australia and the Asia Pacific region through a series of online workshops designed to support them in developing a piece of research guided by a youth-centred Feminist Participatory Action Research (YFPAR) approach, and a related advocacy and campaign strategy. This year the project’s theme relates to youth political empowerment and leadership.
This consultancy will involve collaborative project planning to determine responsibilities, scheduling and objectives; innovative and creative workshop design & implementation, working with our youth research, project leads and our teams in Plan International Vietnam & Plan International Indonesia to deliver overall seamless coordination and dynamic exploration of different topics across the life of the project.
Please note this is a 1 month contract. Open to remote workers in Australia and internationally, especially those in the Asia Pacific region.
