The saying goes, “We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat.” It’s the blend of insight, empathy and pragmatism that will secure the fulfilling role of Facility Manager for a specialist aged care home.

Some of these boats have lost their rudders; others are falling behind. The Facility Manager will be a strong, calm skipper who creates a safe harbour for these vulnerable residents. The tiller that steers assuredly through rough seas. And the anchor that helps keep them steady and stable.

Do you have the hands-on leader ‘ship’ qualities to be their port in the storm?

AND YOU ARE…?

While experience in mental health service delivery is ideal, leadership and management skills in health or aged care are essential. You also have:

  • The ability to navigate the health system and build relationships with external agencies and resources
  • People development and team building experience
  • AHPRA Registered Nurse certification

Reporting to the General Manager, Aged Care, your remit includes:

  • Taking the wheel of operations for a unique 60 bed service providing low-level care and accommodation for clients who have been homeless, have a mental health diagnosis, or have experienced financial or social disadvantage
  • Optimising clients’ health and well-being
  • Utilising local allied and health service professionals who can value-add to the client cohort
  • Guiding and developing a team to provide support that enables clients to live their best lives
  • Demonstrating values-based leadership that aligns with Mission Australia's values
  • Expanding the size of the service when future opportunity arises
