The Path to Treaty represents the beginning of a new relationship between First Nations and non-Indigenous Queenslanders. The Independent Interim Body (IIB) will maintain the momentum of the Path to Treaty through truth telling, research, engagement, and co-design of the First Nations Treaty Institute (the Institute) and Truth Telling and Healing Inquiry.
The Independent Interim Body (IIB) are a short-term interim body, to continue the momentum while the Institute and the Inquiry are being established.
The IIB will be administratively hosted within the State Library of Queensland. An IIB secretariat has been created to support the IIB to maintain the Path to Treaty momentum. This role will be directed and guided by the IIB.
Reporting directly to the IIB, the role is responsible for managing and developing a high performing team that is professional and responsive in the delivery of the objectives and priorities determined by the IIB. Providing authoritative and culturally appropriate advice, guiding the development of strategies, plans and procedures, and supporting the delivery of IIB's priorities, outcomes and reporting obligations will ensure fully informed decision making. In accordance with statutory responsibilities, and relevant procedures, you will ensure effective management and monitoring of the IIB budget.
