Towards Truth is a collaborative partnership of the Indigenous Law Centre UNSW and PIAC, providing practical support for the truth-telling process called for in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
You will be part of a dedicated project team, supporting the launch of the Towards Truth website including researching, documenting, and interpreting laws and policies that have had an impact on First Nations Peoples. Working closely with our project partner, the Indigenous Law Centre, as well as top tier firms and subject matter experts.
You will also:
You are a student, recent graduate or junior lawyer or have experience in legal research, with solid analytical skills and the capacity to develop relationships. You have a proven understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander history, culture and society.
This position is intended as a special measure for the purposes of s 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) and the subject of an exemption granted under s 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
