Phoenix Park Neighbourhood House is located in Malvern East, residing in the community hub of Phoenix Park Community Centre. Our centre is a hub of community involvement and learning, a welcoming, friendly and inclusive centre of activity that reflects and celebrates social and cultural diversity.

Our house provides a welcoming and safe place that actively fosters inclusive participation and partnership in living and learning. We do this by offering accessible and affordable courses, programs and services designed to enrich the lives of all in our community, regardless of age, ability or background. We encourage a sense of belonging in the community.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Manager, key duties will include assisting with general reception and attending to day-to-day class registrations and participant enquiries. In addition to the daily operations of the house, your key responsibility will focus on community engagement. This will include developing and coordinating the marketing and communication strategy. These key duties will include social media, program flyer creation and distribution, exploring promotional opportunities, and developing opportunities to increase the visibility of the centre's programs and events.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A highly regarded candidate will have or be studying a tertiary qualification or certification in marketing, media, communications or have relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in using various digital media platforms, event bookings systems and developing surveys.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated experience in working for the NFP sector.
  • Experience in promoting community programs and events.
  • Team player, with a can-do attitude.

HOURS OF WORK:

14 hours - rostered to suit the Centre needs and opening hours 9am - 4pm (Mon to Thurs) 9am - 1pm (Friday).

TERM OF APPOINTMENT:

Part-Time Position - 12 month contract, subject to funding. A 3 month probation period applies to the position.

All applicants please be aware that in line with the Victorian Chief Health Officer’s Directions, all PPNH workers, volunteers and participants must be fully vaccinated, unless a medical exception applies. Applicants will be required to provide their Australian Government COVID-19 Digital Immunisation Certificate/s or evidence of medical exception as part of our pre-employment requirements.
