YOUR NEW ROLE

The Opera House plays an important role in shaping our nation, life and culture, and inspiring positive social change. This role leads Opera House DI&B strategy:

  • Inspiring and empowering the organisation to achieve leading practice in equity and inclusion, which is critical to the Opera House’s community, creative and commercial success.
  • Providing strategic oversight and support on key programs, initiatives, systems and practices.
  • Unlocking the potential of our workforce by building capability and inclusive thinking and action in our people.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

We are looking for someone with:

  • People with lived experience of social and cultural exclusion, or a deep understanding of the experiences and challenges encountered by people from marginalised or underrepresented groups.
  • Experience in designing/implementing DI&B strategies and delivering projects/initiatives in a large and/or complex organisation.    
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as organisational development, psychology or sociology).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level advice and briefings at Executive and Board levels that are concise, influential and compelling.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders around diversity and inclusion issues. 
  • Influencing, leadership and decision-making skills, and ability to lead cross-functional teams and to motivate others.
