About the team

The Molecular Pathology Laboratory in the Department of Pathology is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our small administration team which supports our molecular diagnostic services. The full-time position presents an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience in this rapidly growing field.

About the role

The Molecular Pathology Administrative Team acts as a bridge between internal and external stakeholders, along with support for the medical scientists, laboratory team and leadership team.

A regular day will see you:

  • Report Issuing
  • Taking phone calls and responding to emails
  • Liaising with clinicians, scientists and laboratory staff
  • Inbox and meeting management

About you

We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, able to work independently and act as part of a team.

You’ll bring with you:

  • Demonstrable experience in MS Office products, Internet and Outlook
  • Database experience
  • Demonstrable abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional approach to patient pathology service confidentiality
  • Appropriate skills in communication
