Position Objective: To advance PETA’s work through our corporate projects, particularly those aimed at promoting vegan living (which includes but is not limited to animal-friendly fashion, food, and entertainment).
Term of Employment: Full-time
Reports to: Vice President, PETA UK, Europe, and Australia
Location: Remote, ideally in Sydney or Melbourne
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Initiate and execute corporate projects that encourage the public to embrace vegan lifestyle choices, including animal-friendly fashion – in line with our campaigns against the use of animal skins and wool – as well as entertainment and food
Develop and manage a strategic plan for PETA’s work with companies
Establish and maintain productive relationships with major retailers, other corporations, and public institutions, with a view to persuading them to add to or improve their vegan product lines
Follow best practices in corporate interaction and ensure consistency in external communications
Prepare and deliver presentations to executives in order to make the case for changes to animal welfare policies
Brainstorm creative ways to work with companies to advocate for animal protection measures and advance campaigns
Represent PETA’s corporate campaigns to the media and the general public
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations, address and overcome objections, and negotiate and close deals
Proven exceptional organisational and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle
Commitment to the objectives of the organisation and the ability to advocate its positions on issues in a professional manner
