The Keeping Families Safe Practitioner works in collaboration with other team members to provide specialist Adolescent Family Violence In The Home (AVITH) interventions for young people aged between 12 -18 years, and/or other family members, where the family lives in the Bayside Peninsula catchment and the young person is using abusive behaviours within the family. The KFS P role can include triage and assessment, AVITH group work, AVITH focused interventions including limited individual and/or family work, case management and consultation to increase safety and reduce the risk/harm to adolescents and their families. Outreach work and inter-agency collaboration is integral to this position.
The KFS Practitioner reports operationally to the Team Leader of Family Violence and is also supported clinically by the Senior Clinician KFS (Social Worker). The role sits within the Peninsula Health Family Violence Service.
