The clinical roles available will provide an opportunity to showcase your skills in working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds and across a variety of different health care settings.
The Social Work Grade 1 Rotations Program includes two six month rotation cycles per calendar year. Grade 1 Social workers will participate in rotations across inpatient settings at Frankston Hospital, Rosebud Hospital, The Mornington Centre and Golf Links Road. There will also be opportunity for three rotations to clinical areas outside of the inpatient setting in the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Team and the Advance Care Planning Team. The designated areas of clinical responsibility will be based around a preference option and in negotiation with the Social Work Lead (Grade 4) and relevant Team Leaders in Community Health.
Grade 2 Social Workers work within acute, medical, surgical and women's health settings. And subacute opportunities exist in rehabilitation and GEM wards. A Grade 2 Social Work role at Peninsula Health provides opportunities to supervise clinical staff, provide field education to social work students, and to lead and participate in quality improvement activities.
The Acute Rehabilitation Program (ARP) is an interdisciplinary service that provides early rehabilitation in an acute setting. The Social Worker in the Acute Rehabilitation Program works with the multidisciplinary team to assist patients in regaining their function and independence and facilitate an early supported discharge home where appropriate.
