Job description

To increase capacity and meet demand, the Pat Cronin Foundation needs facilitators to deliver Education presentations. We require facilitators to deliver our Be Wise Education programs in primary and secondary schools, as well as sporting clubs and community groups. We require facilitators to be based in either QLD or NSW. This is a contractor role not a salaried position. The successful candidates will be paid per presentation.

The Pat Cronin Foundation

The Pat Cronin Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation with the vision of a Society free from Coward Punches. The Pat Cronin Foundation was founded in 2016 following the senseless death of Pat Cronin, who was killed by a single Coward Punch as he went to assist a mate who was being attacked.

The Pat Cronin Foundation is committed and passionate about honouring Pat by providing an optimistic voice to awareness, education, and research and by helping people feel empowered to make change through wise decisions.

Be Wise Program

Our Secondary school presentations are delivered face to face, with the option for videoconferencing if required. Thought provoking and interactive, the Be Wise presentations:

Secondary School

  • Share Pat’s story
  • Support reflection on attitudes and behaviours around anger and aggression Explores consequences for victims and offenders.
  • Empower development of peoples’ own strategies to think carefully, and never use violence.
  • Education of this nature is a key part in driving positive change to End the Coward Punch.
  • Aligned to the Victorian and Australian Curriculums.

Primary School

Supporting student wellbeing and violence prevention through a program that builds emotional regulation, safe decision-making and leadership from Prep to

  • Developed in response to popular demand to accompany the Act Kindly Activity Kit which comprises of age-appropriate story books, activities, and teacher resources.
  • Share Pat’s story in an age-appropriate way.
  • Supports reflection on attitudes and behaviours around rough play anger and aggression.
  • Helps young students explore what happens when people get angry and might hurt each other.
  • Focuses on respectful relationships and how behaviours impact others.
  • Aligned to the Victorian and Australian Curriculums.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of all versions of the Be Wise Program Presentations to school students and sports and community groups throughout your state (Travel and accommodation provided as required).

With full training on content provided, you will bring previous experience of being a confident and engaging facilitator to young people, and the ability to deliver required learning outcomes.

We are keen to find facilitators who are well connected in their communities and may be able to help secure bookings over and above those that the Foundation provides them with.

The facilitator will:

  • Deliver Be Wise Education and Awareness Presentation sessions across their state.
  • Develop new contacts to add to your bookings and build your network and database.
  • Provide clear details of advance (two-month) availability
  • Liaise with Administration Assistant to ensure Presentation Bookings are confirmed
  • Liaise with schools on technical requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships between schools & community organisations and the Pat Cronin Foundation
  • Represent the Pat Cronin Foundation in accordance with our values and not engage in any behaviours that would damage our reputation
  • Gather on-site feedback and images with teachers and audience (where appropriate) for inclusion in PCF media and reports.

Key Selection Criteria

We are looking for a facilitators who have:

  • A commitment to The Pat Cronin Foundation’s vision and values.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated public speaking ability.
  • Ability to engage with large and small groups of children and/or young people.
  • Previous experience presenting to large audiences and working in education area is a definite advantage.
  • A positive and self-motivated attitude and good time management skills.
  • Good administrative and computer literacy skills.
  • A current Working with Children Check for NSW/Blue Card for QLD (or ability to obtain one).
  • Valid drivers’ licence and own vehicle.
  • Passion for work and availability school hours Monday to Friday and able to travel throughout your state.
