The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) is Australia’s only independent non-profit research and development organisation exclusively focused on parenting.
We believe that parenting is the most important influence on a child’s health and wellbeing. To help parents, raise happy healthy children, we seek and share scientific knowledge of effective parenting, develop evidence-based practical solutions and build the capability of the community to support parents.
Due to continued growth, PRC are seeking several Practice Design Specialists to join either the Melbourne or Sydney team. Currently we are working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, but a balance of home and office-based will be available post pandemic.
The position will work across various projects to support the design and development of evidence-based programs and practices to help bridge the knowledge-to-practice gap in parenting and family support. We are looking for a person with exceptional practice skills in a relevant field (psychology, social work or similar), who can apply evidence-based principles and strategies in the real world. This role requires substantial tacit knowledge (that comes with clinical experience), good clinical judgment, and support skills, together with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
You would primarily be responsible for undertaking the adaptation or design of evidence-informed practice and resource guides, frameworks, programs and training materials. You will also be involved in various research and evaluation activities.

The successful candidate will hold a post-graduate qualification in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health or other relevant fields, along with experience working with practitioners to increase their skills and knowledge.
You will have a strong philosophical commitment to the scientist‐practitioner model and be able to use your knowledge and expertise in evidence-based, best practice, in the development of practice frameworks, resource guides, training materials and the like.
You will have demonstrated experience working with and engaging stakeholders in collaborative design processes and be able to understand and incorporate diverse views into practice design, including the willingness to engage in a continuous quality improvement and feedback processes to continually trial and refine practices or resources as needed.
Your exceptional written and verbal communications skills will ensure a high level of personal productivity and work impact, while your excellent interpersonal skills ensure your ability to design, adapt, and support the systematic application of practices and programs.
Experience working with diverse client groups, in addition to high-level knowledge and experience in areas such as child mental health interventions, child disability, development or parenting support will be highly regarded.
In recognition of your hard work and dedication, you will enjoy an attractive remuneration along with a range of benefits including:
Best of all, you will gain tremendous satisfaction in this rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to support parents with raising happy and healthy children.
