ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Manager to create a job share arrangement to oversee all aspects of our human resources function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Centre attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent. This individual will provide strategic leadership and guidance to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture while implementing best practices in human resources.

Working 0.6 EFT and reporting to the Director, Operations, you will oversee and administer all aspects of the HR function and employee lifecycle. The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing HR policies, processes, systems, and programs and providing support and advice to the leadership team and broader organisation on HR related matters such as employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment, and development.

Specifically, some of your key duties will include:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organisations mission, values, and goals
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and employment offers
  • Design and deliver effective onboarding and orientation programs for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organisation
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on HR related matters, including employee relations, performance management and policy interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures inline with legislative, best practice and quality requirements
  • Develop and administer remuneration and benefits programs, salary benchmarking activities ensuring competitive and equitable pay
  • Oversee HR data management and reporting ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will be a HR generalist, with a minimum Bachelor level degree in Human Resources, or related tertiary qualification, combined with extensive HR experience. You'll understand the structure of different HR strategies and systems and have a comprehensive understanding of HR related legislation and best practice HR knowledge.

Your experience in a similar role will be the key to your success, with knowledge of the not-for-profit industry viewed as highly advantageous.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to enable you to develop effective working relationships with all staff, as well as with external stakeholders.

This role will suit an analytical, strategic, and highly organised person, who can adapt their knowledge to new situations, and is looking to work with an organisation that makes a real difference.

Furthermore, you will need to be adaptable and forward-thinking and possess an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
