Our small dynamic team is devoted to recruiting, thoroughly preparing, sending and supporting those taking up an assignment abroad. About the position:

In this exciting new role you will work alongside the Executive Director to enable Palms Australia to sustainably increase the number of requests we are able to meet. Our strategic direction 2017-2024 includes an income development plan to fund at least 50 assignments per annum.

As a fundraising professional you will be tasked with generating regular giving with new donors, but this role does not involve cold calling. You will work to develop relationships with Australian communities and organisations connected to program participants. This will begin with our Palms team assisting you to genuinely empathise with the experience of each program participant preparing for their assignment abroad. More details about the implementation of this key strategy are contained in the attachments.

Empathetic relationships also will be indispensable in nurturing the support of participants returning from assignments. While they may or may not be significant donors many of them provide matchless “face-to-face” engagement in the Australian communities to which they return. Providing a platform for them to share their experience assists recruitment of participants for new assignments, and without compromising that, may also be utilised in fundraising campaigns.

There is scope also for innovative, fresh, evidence-based ideas on how to raise funds. The fundraiser will be encouraged to map the potential interest of individual donors in specific projects. This also will assist the development of an effective bequest program suited to the profile of Palms supporters.

In summary this is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively to implement important strategies for the achievement of Palms Vision and Mission. Your relationship management skills will contribute to sustainable change in remote communities around the world.
