About the role

To provide support to clients undertaking community stabilisation and detox for drug and alcohol.

The Community Detox program is a pilot program. The Delivery and administration can be across a number of locations including in reach and outreach to participants of the program.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Adhere to the Community Stabilisation and Detoxification Guidelines.
  • Manage and prepare clients throughout the stabilisation and detox process including but not limited to assessment, counselling, reviews and support planning.
  • Liaison, advocacy and referrals within program scopes.
  • Provide responsive relapse and crisis support.
  • Reporting, records management using relevant client management systems.  
  • Case and program review and assurance activities. 
  • Documentation management to be of high quality and standard.
  • Fulfil organisational responsibilities such as attending staff meetings, case conferences, supervision and further training and professional development. 
  • Be aware of, support and promote occupational health and safety standards
  • Contribute to and promote the implementation of WANADA Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Human Services Standard
  • Other duties as required

Salaries are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Level 5 $93,860, pay point commensurate with experience, qualifications and role.

About you

Working within this role will suit individuals who are flexible and able to problem solve. We are seeking someone who is experienced, compassionate and can provide culturally secure counselling, education and support to consumers and their families.

You will need the following:

  • Knowledge and demonstrated skill in the delivery of outreach services in the areas of AOD and Mental Health
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skill in the area of clinical case management including risk and crisis.
  • Hold, or be working toward a relevant tertiary qualification in social, behavioural or health sciences or hold experience of an equivalent nature. 
  • 2 years minimum experience in the industry.
  • Experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to build strong and effective stakeholder relationships
