Client support
- Observe clients’ rights and maintain their privacy and confidentiality
- Work with an OzHelp nurse to plan, coordinate and safely co-deliver the Tradies Tune Up (TTU) health promotion activity
- Effectively deliver additional health promotion activities such as the Wellbeing@Work
- Competently use OzHelp’s health screening tools (i.e. TTU and Workplace Tune Up) to identify client needs and provide support and/or referrals to workers experiencing difficulties such as unemployment, illness, family situations, drug and substance abuse, financial difficulty, mental illness, workplace issues, bullying, suicidal thoughts or personal crises
- Respond within target timeframes to Workplace Tune Up (WTU) follow ups and priority follow ups
- Provide support using only the OzHelp approved approach i.e. person centred, strengths focussed brief therapy. Do not give advice.
- Actively participate in reflective practice
- If unsure of how to safely provide effective support, seek timely advice from a senior colleague (i.e. Senior Counsellor, Registered Nurse or Service Delivery Director)
- Build and maintain a sound knowledge of area appropriate referral pathways including AOD services, housing, mental health crisis services, general practice, allied health services, CIT, TAFE, vocational and industry mentor and support programs
- Use the Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) model to competently undertake suicide risk assessments, create and document safety plans as required & offer support to workplaces following a critical incident at the same time or after professional services have responded
