Kinship Case Manager - Dandenong (Fixed Term 12 months)

As part of an established team, your primary focus will be the effective case management for children and young people aged 0-18 years in Kinship placements, and supporting them with their day-to-day challenges, build positive relationships and engage in activities to enhance resilience and self-esteem.

Your purpose is to improve outcomes and make a difference to the lives of children and young people through your actions and behaviours as you deliver services and support achievement of program goals and objectives,

There will be opportunities to grow your skills and experience, and provided support, supervision, and development to set you up for success.

How you make a difference

Key activities will include linking with community-based services, support of carers, promoting positive relationships, engaging, listening, and supporting children and young people, and ensuring timely, accurate completion of case notes and associated documentation and reporting.

  • Case management for carers and children
  • Assessment and placement plans
  • Support carers around the complexities in relation to family access
  • Supporting children in care
  • Promote positive relationships in family systems
  • Ensure relevant paperwork and administrative work is up to standard for reporting

Skills & Experience required

  • Tertiary Qualification in, Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology or Community Services
  • Experience in a similar role, out of home care, foster care, kinship is highly desired
  • Client centred practice
  • Organised, flexible, team player who is also able to work autonomously
  • Previous Child Protection experience would be great.
  • Current driving license (essential)
  • Comprehensive understanding of kinship care and the issues affecting carers and children

  • Salary Packaging offering up to $15,900 plus $ 2650 meals and entertainment
  • Additional ex gratia paid leave – up to 4 days per year Easter & Christmas
