Youth Lived Experience Consultant

Orygen is a specialist mental health service to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

Your new role:

You will be responsible for recruiting and engaging young people with lived experience in a range of participation opportunities. You will also:

  • Support young people to meaningfully share their perspectives and experiences Support other staff to develop lived experience participation opportunities
  • Continue to develop new opportunities for young people to be involved in quality improvement of mental healthcare
  • Convene the ‘Platform’ lived experience advisory group
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new lived experience consultation, collaboration and co-design opportunities
  • Contribute a lived experience perspective at internal meetings

About you:

  • You are passionate about spotlighting lived experience in mental healthcare
  • You have lived experience of using public mental health services, specifically as a young person
  • You have experience contributing a lived experience perspective in mental health services
  • You are excited about developing new opportunities, and ensuring diverse perspectives can be contributed
