The Senior Clinician – Integration will work within our headspace centres initially for 6 months acting as conduit between primary and secondary care services, supporting referral pathways and providing episodic support to young people with moderate mental health disorders and complex presentations. Following the first 6 months this position will then move into our Integrated Service Centres.

You will:

  • Ensure that young people can access treatment, care and support with a range of mental health and situational issues.
  • Work with the headspace team to deliver shared care and undertake intake, assessment and referral processes for young people.
  • Facilitate entry pathways for young people accessing the various services within headspace, Orygen Specialist Programs and the community.
  • Support and monitor access to digital interventions at the headspace Centre.
  • Provide secondary consultation, education and training to Primary Services clinicians.

Please note: This is a part time (0.8 FTE) permanent position.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health outcomes for young people. In addition, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, occupational therapy, nursing or social work.
  • Registration with AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligibility for membership of the AASW where necessary.
  • Previous experience in Child and Youth Mental Health Service or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated capacity to problem solve effectively and work creatively with young people, particularly within an early intervention framework.
  • Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health care.
