about the role

The Director of Strategy and Practice Quality is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple OPG program areas. The purpose of the role is to develop, lead and implement a range of strategic and operational service delivery priorities across the organisation to contribute to upholding the rights of the Queenslanders OPG serves.

key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of the Strategy and Practice Quality business unit which includes:
    • Strategic Policy
    • Strategic complaints management
    • Practice quality and practice development, including culturally appropriate and sensitive practice
    • Advocacy to uphold National Standards for Public Guardianship
    • Policy and Legislation response to relevant Disability Royal Commission recommendations.
  • Provide strategic leadership as a member of OPG’s senior leadership team.
  • Strategic use of data and quality reviews to inform and drive improvements to practice quality and advocacy to promote the rights and interests of OPG clients.
  • Provide strategic high-level advice to the Deputy Public Guardians and the Public Guardian on matters relating to OPG operations.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture to ensure OPG services incorporate and centre the voices of the people we serve.
  • Lead a strong client service focus in all activities, by establishing collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the business unit in relation to work planning and review, staff development, team management and communication to ensure the efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources.
