Consortium Independent Chair (Voluntary)

Open Minds

Are you passionate about empowering young voices in mental health? Want to help shape services that make a real difference for young people?

We’re seeking an Independent Chair to lead our Consortium Advisory Committee – a diverse group that guides how youth mental health services are delivered across several sites in Queensland.

Your Impact:

As Chair, you’ll:

  • Foster an inclusive space where young people feel safe and empowered to share their ideas.
  • Collaborate with a Youth Co-Chair (aged 16–24) and Centre Managers to ensure meaningful contributions are heard.
  • Guide discussions that directly impact youth mental health services.

What’s In It For You?

  • Make a tangible difference in youth mental health and wellbeing.
  • Develop leadership, facilitation, and governance skills.
  • Work alongside passionate young people and experienced professionals.

Commitment:

  • Quarterly meetings (in-person or online).
  • Occasional planning sessions.
  • Regular contact (around once a fortnight) with the Manager and Co-Chair.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are an excellent communicator and listener.
  • Have a passion for youth participation and mental health.
  • Bring experience with advisory groups, boards, or community leadership (nice to have, but not essential).
  • Can remain neutral and guide constructive, inclusive conversations.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact, apply now. We’d love to have you on board.
