One Tree Community Services is a Not for Profit organisation that supports community services and childcare centres throughout Australia. , providing leadership, guidance and support to staff and the community.
The Children and Family Centre is situated in Wadeye, an Aboriginal community 450 kilometres outside of Darwin. This role is as much about providing learning experiences for individuals in the community in their roles as parents and staff, as it is about the children.

About the role:
- Compliance: To oversee continuous improvements and compliance ensuring the workplace operates within Workplace Health and Safety requirements, risk is managed and One Tree’s duty of care to children is strictly upheld
- Centre Management: To ensure the effective and efficient management of the Children and Family Centre and staff including the management of associated facilities
- Community Liaison: To work with partners, stakeholders, families, staff and the community to support integrated service delivery
- Collegiality: To build a positive workplace culture, particularly supporting Indigenous staff in engaging with children to support their education and care needs
- Human Resources: Leading people and managing human resources effectively and efficiently within One Tree policy guidelines and the Fair Work Act
- Financial Management: Keeping the service on budget
- Professional Development: Supporting the continuous professional growth of all centre staff
Successful applicant must have:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education (e.g. Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching) as recognised by the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience at management level in early education and care
- History of building successful relationships with staff, families and community
- History of achieving excellence at management level in an early education and care setting
- Valid Working with Children Check (OCHRE) or the ability to obtain
- Driver's licence
Desirable:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience working in early education and care settings
- Experience working in remote communities
