What this role involves

As our Practice Lead, you’ll work closely with Onemda’s service managers to support and enhance practice development across Group Services, Therapy Services and Support Coordination Services. 

You’ll be responsible for supporting our staff through training, coaching, guidance and mentoring as you enhance practice development and program compliance across the organisation to ensure the best outcomes for program participants and drive continuous improvement in the quality of our services.

Most of all, you’ll have the desire to use your skills in a way which supports people with disability to participate in the programs they enjoy, achieve their goals and reach their potential. 

What we’re looking for in you…

To deliver what we need in this role, you will be:

  • An experienced training professional with a sound understanding of disability services and the NDIS
  • A great communicator who can motivate others, positively influence organisational culture, and provide strong direction
  • A mentor and coach who leads by example with your exemplary work standards
  • Effective in working with individuals or groups
  • A good listener who encourages reflection to drive growth, and relies on data and evidence to underpin practice
  • Able to mediate and negotiate positive outcomes in practice situations
  • Across practice and service trends, and able to identify barriers and opportunities, in order to make change and strengthen outcomes
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in how to apply theoretical approaches and service responses which are relevant to people with intellectual disability and their families
  • Accountable, with a clear understanding of the importance of compliance and risk management
  • A critical thinker and problem solver who manages time wisely 
  • Confident tackling challenging conversations, questions and topics
  • A team player who works collaboratively but is comfortable with autonomy when required
  • Flexible and willing to travel to different sites as required. 

You will also have:

  • The right qualifications: relevant tertiary qualification, ideally Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and accreditation standards that apply to the disability sector, e.g. Disability Services Act, NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Relevant practice experience: at least three years’ experience in clinical and practice guidance relevant to the community or disability sector 
  • Current Drivers’ Licence
