Odyssey House Victoria (OHV) is a place of hope and positive change for individuals working towards breaking their pattern of addiction. The Hope Centre is a 12-month-old state-wide residential drug and rehabilitation centre operated by OHV, located at Lucknow, near Bairnsdale, East Gippsland. The Hope Centre treatment facility works as a Therapeutic Community (TC) with clients to establish healthier relationships, promote personal change and support them in their recovery journey.

We are looking for a skilled, empathetic and highly motivated AOD professional to foster the therapeutic community process of mutual self-help recovery, engaging the combined functions and activities of the facilitator, the counsellor, and the role model. The position

The position is offered as a full time, maximum term contract to 30 June 2023, with possibility of extension if funding allows. The role is based at the Hope Centre in Lucknow (with a secondary location at Head Office in Richmond). The key purpose of the position is to support clients in residential treatment to establish healthier lifestyles free of problematic alcohol and drug use.

A day in the life of this position includes contributing to the life of the therapeutic community (TC) by liaising closely with residents and other staff and by providing individual and group therapy, and case management to foster safe, therapeutic relationships within an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and harmony.
