Ochre Education

WHO ARE WE?

Impact Assessment is a curriculum-aligned, standardised assessment platform designed to help schools benchmark student progress, identify learning gaps, and support evidence-based teaching and learning. It provides high-quality assessments, cohort-benchmarked analysis, and actionable insights linked to curriculum resources, enabling teachers to adjust instruction effectively. The platform supports both ready-made and custom school-designed assessments, with flexible online and offline options and automated data handling. It is based on the UK’s SmartGrade platform, used by thousands of schools and school systems across England.

Impact Assessment launched in Australia in late 2025 in response to strong interest from the education sector. Since launch Impact Assessment already has over 60 schools actively using its platform, including 2 school systems with a strong pipeline of over 400 contacts. It was established by Ochre Education, a national Australian not-for-profit dedicated to improving educational outcomes by supporting teachers with high-quality, evidence-informed curriculum resources and professional learning. Over the past four years, Ochre has worked with more than 500 expert teachers to develop thousands of lessons and resources, now accessed by 90% of Australian schools.

Impact Assessment is one of two social enterprises owned by Ochre Education, alongside TeachWell, a professional learning organisation supporting the implementation of high-impact teaching practices. Revenue from these ventures helps fund Ochre’s mission to provide free, high-quality curriculum resources to teachers across Australia.
