We are seeking a Payroll Officer to administer high quality, accurate, fortnightly payroll services (including salary-packaging options) for a staff of approx. 300 people employed under 8 different EBAs. You will work as part of a small, dedicated Finance team with close interaction with our People & Culture team as well as other members of our diverse staff delivering a large and complex range of services.

This role calls for a Payroll professional who is experienced with iCHRIS Payroll and understands and can leverage the broader CHRIS human resources information management system. You will be part of an evolving organisation that is embracing change and technology in our efforts to boost the health and wellbeing of our community.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible to manage end to end payroll functions for all NRCH programs
  • Process all pay, timesheets, leave requests, variations, allowances, superannuation and termination payments accurately every fortnight
  • Maintain correct pay scales/codes and other vital information in the payroll, finance and human resource information systems
  • Manage all salary packaging processing
  • Process superannuation and super upload on clearing house
  • Reconcile PAYG and STP uploads to the ATO
  • Liaise with People and Culture to ensure all new staff are set up accurately on various payroll and HR systems
  • Actively participate (and lead where appropriate) in year-end processes including reconciliations, estimates and issuing annual payment summaries
  • Provide appropriate regular (and ad hoc) payroll reports
  • Provide assistance as required in other business operations (either in Finance or within HR Admin and Coordination) subject to your experience

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated experience with iCHRIS payroll software
  • Experience with digital Time and Attendance systems for payroll processing (ENTO Workforce)
  • Bookkeeping or accounting qualifications or significant relevant payroll experience
  • In depth experience in processing payroll services with minimal supervision including payroll reconciliation/Audit and payroll journals/preparation of banking-related files
  • Experience with handling staff queries regarding payroll and EBA/Award conditions
  • Experience in process improvement and excellent attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience in other functions of Finance (such as A/R and A/P) and/or
  • Experience in Human Resources functions (such as coordination, administration, recruitment)
